How does metadata comparison work?
We extract metadata from both files locally and highlight matching, differing, and missing tags side by side.
Which files can I compare?
Any two files this site can read: images, video, audio, PDF or documents (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, EPUB, OpenDocument). They do not have to share a format — a JPEG can be compared against a PNG. A file whose bytes do not match its name is rejected instead of compared.
What counts as a difference?
A tag both files carry with different values is a difference. A tag only one file carries is marked added or removed. A tag neither file carries counts as a match, not a difference.
